Crazy Start to Day

Day one started out pretty crazy. Six am wakeup to prepare for tile guy to finish up grout in bathroom before we left. He arrived 45 minutes late and while working, Bill phoned Coho terminal and was alarmed to find out there was a good chance we wouldn’t get on. He jumped in truck with trailer and headed to terminal with vague plan of how to proceed from there. It was a good move because he just squeezed in before they cut off vehicles. I waited until tiler was done, madly scraped off small bits of grout he had tracked on hall floor, threw Bill’s computer in bag, flew around the house looking for Canadian change for bus, and with three backpacks, ran down street to just turn corner in time to see bus coming up the street! Bill was waiting at bus stop by parliament buildings with umbrella but had to abandon post when deadline of 9:00 was reached to be there for customs officer. (I had passports in my bag) I arrived five minutes later and after customs encounter (read next entry), we sat rather shell-shocked in the truck for a leisurely hour and a half before boarding.
